Another look at goals
Posted in projects, life, fitness on April 28th, 2006I’m on my eighth week of crossfit, the beginning of which I’ve taken as a bit of rest. Towards the end of last week I was really feeling drained and dreading the workouts; in a bad mindset overall. While it’s obvious to me that some of the motivational problems are related to slipping on short term goals it also had the whiff of overtraining. Tonight I start back in fresh and hopefully the rest will have done me good. In terms of hitting my targets I’ve been good about doing the workouts; up until this week I hadn’t missed a single one. With sleeping and eating I’ve been significantly worse. Work was really busy for a few weeks which meant later nights, and my son is starting to go to bed somewhat later as well. I was regularly finding myself unable to start the workout until 10PM which is far short of ideal. I have to redouble my efforts to both get to bed at a reasonable hour and get back in the habit of smaller meals more often with more fruits, nuts, and veggies. Read the rest of this entry »
