Weak Focus

I hate when I come back to playing poker after a hiatus. I wind up in my own head way too much and just play poorly. I’ve been on a bit of a bad run which compounds the problem, but I’ve leaked away far more than I should have during the downturn. It may not be helping that I’ve been opening tables and playing shorthanded. In the past this has been a good way to prep for general shorthanded play without the full increase in variance. It also tends to get you a better table once it fills, but that’s besides the point. Unfortunately I think I’m failing to adjust well once the table fills. Even my postgame analysis has really been coming up short. Time to take a step back, focus on the basics, and settle down to solid single table play again.

At least I’m lifting again.
